This is the best investment in my health that I have made in my entire life. After a long history of many medical problems with my knees, including two ACL replacement operations on my left knee and one on my right, at age 56, osteoarthritis had escalated to the point where my cartilage had almost vanished completely. This caused me terrible discomfort when doing the most basic movements, including walking, not to mention how painful it was to exercise. Getting out of bed in the morning was torture and it usually took me several minutes to move short distances, while listening to the typical snap, crackle, and pop that my knees produced with each movement. After seeing several orthopedists in Houston, they recommended that I significantly lower the level of motion with my knees and prepare for knee replacements on both legs. I had been reading articles about stem cell treatments and despite it being an experimental procedure, I decided to investigate further. I found out that it was an expensive procedure, but quite effective and that professional athletes recommended it, having received fabulous results themselves. I asked my doctors in the U.S.A. about this procedure and was told that it was not approved yet and that I might have no choice but to have knee replacement surgery in the short term. I researched various places where this stem cell procedure is performed, including clinics in Mexico, Panama, and Colombia. After a few weeks of researching, I received some very positive reports about a clinic in Cali, Colombia, called Regenera. I contacted them to see if they were available for an appointment and from the first time I spoke with them I felt they were very professional as they explained the ins and outs of the procedure. I decided to prepare a trip to Cali and had a preliminary appointment with Dr. Angela Almanza. The clinic seemed quite modern and very well equipped. The staff was extremely friendly and made me feel very calm. The doctor gave me an initial checkup to try to draw conclusions about the possible results that we could expect from the stem cell treatment. She told me that she thought I was a very good candidate and that we could have fantastic results in a short time. We talked about the fees and although the price seemed a bit high, she explained to me that most of the amount to pay lies in the main ingredient, which is the stem cells, which had to be imported and treated especially if you wanted to get the best result. Once I made the decision to go ahead with the procedure, the doctor designed a program that included several hyperbaric chamber treatments and revitalizing serums that would prepare my body to receive the stem cell injections. She explained to me that a large part of the injected cells would die quickly and that to maximize the chance of success in the treatment, it would be best to divide the stem cell ration into two applications, two weeks apart. I accepted the procedure as suggested by the doctor and the next day we began with the first hyperbaric chamber session. This was the first time that I had undergone this experience, but at all times the staff made me feel very safe and calm, as they have state-of-the-art equipment and all the necessary knowledge to give the patient complete peace of mind. After a few days preparing, I had my first injection session on both knees. The doctor was very careful and took the time to explain to me step by step what she was doing. I walked out of the first session, had a few more hyperbaric chamber sessions over the next two weeks, and then the second injection session. Throughout the entire procedure, both the doctor and her nurses were extremely professional and made me feel very well cared for and safe. Having finished my treatment, I returned to the United States and within a few days I began to feel a slight improvement in the pain in my knees. After 10 or 12 days the pain was 50% gone. Things continued to improve and I jumped right back into exercise, avoiding high impact and limiting myself only to exercises where my knees move without shock, such as cycling, elliptical, swimming, and rowing. Today, 3 months after receiving the treatment, the pain in my knees has completely disappeared. I know it's hard to believe, but I walk more than 10,000 steps a day and continue to exercise, including not only cardio, but also weight lifting, and I don't feel the slightest pain in my knees. The constant rattling of the mornings when getting out of bed has disappeared. Definitely, at 56 years old, I feel that my knees are the same as when I was 35. My orthopedist in the US had already told me that I was a candidate for replacement of both knees and I am sure that will not be the case for many years (if ever). I totally recommend Dr. Angela Almanza, her clinic and her staff. Many thanks to Dr. Almanza, Adriana, Victoria, Maritza and the rest of the girls from Regenera. They have changed my
