An anal fissure is a tear in the outer skin of the anus, which causes severe pain in the anus during and after defecation. The most common causes of anorectal fissure are constipation and diarrhea, but may also occur due to infections such as tuberculosis and syphilis. His diagnosis is performed by applying an anal inspection, if a lot of pain, a local anesthetic. More than half of cases of rectal fissure heal without treatment, simply acquiring healthy habits such as consumption of fiber. In cases where the lesion does not heal by itself, it is used to surgery, performed through a tiny cut in the anal sphincter to relax and allow further processing of the fissure.
