Rhinoplasty is a surgery in which otolaryngologists or plastic surgeons shape and mold the nose through surgical intervention. Rhinoplasty is performed after age 16 and its main objective is to improve the physical and aesthetic appearance of the nose. There are 2 types of rhinoplasty : aesthetics, which shapes and polishes the nose and the contour of the nasal tip; and rhinoseptoplasty, which is combined to perform functional surgery in patients with ventilatory disorders.

The importance of choosing a trained surgeon

Rhinoplasty is a high definition surgery and should be performed by specialists in otolaryngology or plastic surgery, aesthetic and repairing very well trained. Before choosing the doctor it is important to consider that rhinoplasty is the central part of the face and any inappropriate procedure, poorly performed or complicated, can leave important sequelae and even results that are not optimal or that the patient does not I would like at the end of the surgical procedure.

Rhinoplasty techniques according to the specialist's choice

The techniques to carry out rhinoplasty are two, basically. The first technique is closed rhinoplasty that is done through incisions inside the nose, via the mucosa and leaves no external scars. The second technique is open rhinoplasty , which leaves a small incision at the level of the columella by which all the resection of the tissues and the cartilaginous hump can be done. Both surgical rhinoplasty techniques are very good and leave pleasant results, the important thing is that the specialist choose the one that makes him feel comfortable.
