This fibrosis or scarring that occurs is an attraction of the penis during erection, and is what causes the same incurvatura. This curvature is painful at first and then this kind of pain is disappearing. This disease is usually unilateral and appears mainly in men between fifty and seventy years old.
Why this disease occurs? What treatments are available?
It is not known why Peyronie's disease occurs. Often it can result from trauma during penetration although many studies related disease with an impaired immune system or scarring. This presents a highly variable disease evolution, but most often progressive patients that scar until the patient is stabilized and reaches a certain degree of curvature. The goals of treatment are to relieve pain, improve the degree of curvature and allow penetration during sex. Most of the treatments that have been tested throughout history are totally ineffective and have no scientific evidence. At first you can always try a type of medical treatment and ultimately definitive treatment so far has been surgery. The shock wave lithotripsy or low energy applied to the penis, acting on the stage of decreasing pain or obliterating the pain. But when the curvature is fully established until now the only definitive treatment was surgery. The problem in surgery Peyronie's disease is a complex surgery and also often produces a significant shortening of the penis.
What is the treatment Peyroflex? How does it work?
The US FDA or Ministry of Health has approved in 2013 the first drug for Peyronie's disease. Now finally arrives in Spain, with the help of Laser Médical Rent this drug to avoid surgery in many cases. Peyroflex is the first non-surgical alternative for the treatment of Peyronie's disease in patients with a higher degree of curvature at 30 degrees. Peyroflex is a drug extracted biological toxin clostridium histolítico. Peyroflex acts through some shots that we made in the plate, undoing the accumulation of collagen or that scar.
How the treatment is applied? Is it safe and effective?
Treatment consists of several cycles. The first day was injected into the drug plate. Roughly 48 hours of the first injection, a second injection is injected into the area of the plate. And at 48 one modeling occurs penis to try to break the plate. After this treatment the patient is taught a series of exercises to be performed at home for at least six weeks. After this period the patient is reassessed and in many cases requires a second or third treatment. The safety and efficacy of Peyroflex has been established in two large studies involving more than 832 patients who had a higher degree of curvature at 30 degrees. In most cases the degree of curvature improved by more than 40 or 50 degrees. Therefore Peyroflex treatment significantly reduced the degree of incurvatura and annoying disease-related effects.
